Q. Why have a dummy file ?. A. The reason for having a dummy file is that when you patch a game it move's the SYSTEM.CNF file to a new position on the cd (LBA 12231). Therefore it could possibly overwrite some important data on the cd. Q. So why does it move the SYSTEM.CNF file ?. A. Basically when you have swapped the game with the AR2 cd and press X it goes back to the SYSTEM.CNF file on the cd, and therefore it goes back to the same point on the cd (LBA 12231). So by putting the SYSTEM.CNF file of the game at the same point as the AR2 it should boot the game. Q. I've done the Dummy File and it doesn't work why ?. A. Well we know it doesn't work with AR2 1.3. And it doesn't work with all games. You see some games need the files to be in a certain order. Some need them to be in the origional order as they were on the origional cd. Games that do work are TTT and RRV and these have kits made for them by BJOHNSON who put alot of work into it. Q. If just copied my game straight across no Dummy File or Patching how come it works ?. A. At the moment we don't quite Know why it seems that if you have an AR2 1.3 then you don't need to patch some games, or add Dummy Files. But not all games work with AR2 1.3 because they need Patching and need the files re-ordered on the cd, Which the AR2 1.3 doesn't like for some reason. Q. Does it matter what version AR2 i have ?. A. Not at the moment, But there is supposed to be a new version 1.4 coming out which is supposed to not let you play backups, But again this is not certain. Q. Does it matter what version AR2 i have if i put the NEO2 chip in ?. A. As far as we know at the moment NO it seems to work with every game no matter what version AR2 you have.Bearing in mind about the new 1.4 version that is supposed to be coming out. But there's bound to be some conflicts as different people come up with different problems. Q. I really want TTT but i have a AR2 1.3 what can i do ?. A. Well Phazer said that he has a AR2 1.3 and that the Japanese Paradox release works with no patch or anything else. I've not tested this yet. But you could always but the origional. Q. What games work with AR2 1.3 ?. A. Fifa 2001, F1 2000, Track'n'field, Midnight Club, SSX (BUT IT FREEZES), Street Fighter X3, X-Squad, Super Buster Move, Oni, Silent Scope, Ready 2 Rumble 2, Gradius, ESPN NBA 2, Wild Wild Racing, Pool Masters, Madden 2001, Metal Gear Solid 2 Demo, Unreal Tournament, Agian there maybe conflicting Evidence as people have different outcomes. Q. Can i do DVD games ?. A. Yes some games can be done such as Orphan, you have to replace some of the video, But some games require some programming knowledge and is best left to GROUPS. Basically it's trial and error. Q. Does this apply to PAL or NTSC ?. A. At the moment most methods will work on either system or games. Q. Is there any difference between Rented and Non Rented games. A. Not that i know of they seem to be the same. But there does appear to be some different versions of games I.E RRV and TTT NTSC i'm not to sure on the pal side though. Q. So how do i swap the games ?. A. There are a few ways (Neo2 chip, Tray Switch, Cog/Knife Method, Tray Mod Chip, LH method), all of which will be covered on my main site. Q. Is that all i need to know ?. A. Well yes, But as new games and problems appear new methods will evolve, Such as using CD-GENERATOR (Software for creating PSX cd's). So you will have to follow this site for the latest info and tutorials.
